Our Story
My name is Bud, and I am the founder of Lucky Penny Woodworks.
In 2012, My father passed away after a long battle with cancer. Several years after his passing, he reached out to me with a sign; a lucky penny.

In 2019, our family was going through a very difficult time. My wife had been diagnosed with breast cancer and we were looking for any sign of hope. Little did we know that our sign would come to us from my father.
On the first day of treatment, my wife and I met another patient waiting to be seen. As he shared stories of his life, each and every piece of his story matched up to a specific detail in my father’s life; jobs, family members, and military service. As he was leaving, he gave my wife a “good luck” double headed penny. we knew instantly that this was our sign.
Today, my wife is cancer-free and we still have that very special lucky penny. To commemorate my dad, each board is inlaid with a 1944 penny to represent the year he was born.
